Hey doubt anyone will know who I am but I was in Pravus Dei at the launch of Vanguard but quit VG because of how buggy/laggy it was. I heard that all of what was left of PD vanguard came here and was looking around at the site since I was bored. Anyway how is vanguard raiding? encounters well scripted or just burn, tank, heal? Is itemazation any good etc. Thanks in advance duders

Every encounter has something more to it than pure tank and spank. Obviously some are more challenging than others, and there is some repetition, but it's more than the tank and spank of old EQ.
Itemization has come a long way, and is good for the most part. There are still itemization issues, because of the sheer number of mods and the ability of crafting armor to focus on a specific mod alone, but for the most part raid drops are worthwhile. Some classes have it better than others.
It's fun, and challenging, so no complaints here. Only the dragon hasn't been defeated, but given the tendency of games lately to push out weak or broken content, I'm quite happy with how things have turned out. Unlike in EQ where encounters were simply broken when players got to them, and so unbeatable, we've seen the challenge of encounters, rather than bugs, determine the speed at which guilds progress. Then again I haven't fought the dragon yet myself, so maybe he hasn't been killed because he's broken, heh.
I don't think we have anyone in BoW who was guilded with you in PD. Most of them burned out long ago.

Thanks alot for the reply. That's actually pretty good that only 1 mob is not killed due to it being broken (if that even is the case). I know in EQ2 that is usually why 90% of mobs are not killed so quickly.
I'll probably go back to Vanguard in a few months once my eq2 t5 guild gets bored. Thanks again for the info.

I wouldn't say it's so much that the dragon is broken (I seem to recall Myris saying it hit for around 9k unbuffed which I think we might be able to manage).
There's just the matter of, ah, "dealing" with his breath attack which'll take us another week :)

yeah hits for 20k on a bard like 9-12k on a tank unbuffed, his breath is supposed to be nasty and he has more attacks which will require strats to avoid and such lmao, he should be fun to say the least and the longest to learn

Sounds awesome? Think it's worth it to come back to the game? Would prolly bring some people with me to make it easier to level.

eh if you enjoy'd it it's worth a second look, they've fixed alot, released a lot more content, in the ongoing process of class revamps and finally the Dev team is having a player base interaction with GM events and other crap to patch up problems with the game. It's shaping up to be a great game finally, I still blame Silius, that crazy bastard seems to have been on an acid trip for so long =p
